People are special

Life is short. That’s a message that’s been reiterated time and time again recently, both on tv shows, and in real life unfortunately. You don’t have all the time in the world.

My dad found his old video camera last week and I was watching loads of videos of me as a child. Birthdays, Christmases, random outings and occasions, they were all there. It was really strange watching and hearing myself as a toddler or child, but the weirdest thing was hearing my Grandpa and my Nana’s voices again. It’s been 7 years and 3 years respectively since they passed on, and hearing their voices again was so so strange. It actually made me really emotional.
It got me thinking of what I would love to say to them, if I had the chance. or what I should have said when I did have the chance. I know exactly what the last thing I said to my Grandpa was, and I’ve always regretted it and wished it had been something different. It was nothing bad, but it was just ordinary..nothing special or with any meaning.

Now, i dont want this to be a morbid post, honest. But this got me thinking about what the quote at the top says. If you love someone, tell them. If someone’s important to you, let them know!!!! I’m sure I’ve said this in a post before, but we spend way too much time worrying about what people will think of us if we’re honest and tell them what they really mean to us. Worrying they’ll think we’re weird, or over emotional, or soppy, or over the top. Which is so stupid. Why not say it? Why not tell someone how good a friend they are? Or how much they mean to you? Or how pretty/funny/clever/kind/talented they are? Really, why not? What’s the point in keeping it to yourself? Time runs quickly, and its far better to make someone feel loved than to never get the chance.

People are special…tell them that!!!!
